Gor Mahia FC is the most successful football club in Kenya. Formed in 1968, Gor Mahia have won the Kenyan top-tier league (Kenya Premier League) a record 18 times, the CECAFA Club championship thrice, African Cup Winners Cup once and the Kenyan FA Cup eight times.
Based in Nairobi, the club draws its supporters from all over the country and has an especially fervent fan base in Nairobi and the Nyanza region in Western Kenya.
Gor Mahia FC got its name from the famed medicine-man/magician Gor Mahia – nicknamed K’Ogalo and Mayienga.
The team’s home grounds are Nairobi’s City Stadium and Moi Stadium in Kisumu.
The team’s official colour is green as a home colour, white the second and away colour and blue the third designated colour.
