Youth Team head coach Tom Ogweno is eyeing National Super League (NSL) with his young squad.
Ogweno who has guided the junior team through the ranks says his side is full of talented and dedicated players who despite their age, are able to put up with older players in the league.
Speaking to Gor Mahia official website, the coach said: “My team is full of very good, young, talented and dedicated players who despite their age, are able to handle the pressure that comes with facing older players in the league.”
“Our objective was to work towards promotion to NSL but Covid-19 pandemic made it impossible but still, our set objectives remain the same.”
Ogweno further reiterated the need to take youth program seriously adding that it’s important for league clubs to have junior sides for football development. “I think we have to take youth programs and structures seriously. All premier league clubs must have their youth sides and youth team league for the professional development of the players.”
