Ahead of today’s league match against Sofapaka in Wundanyi, head coach Manuel Vaz Pinto says the team and technical staff are working to get the best.
The coach says to be at the club, there is always the desire to be the best.
“In a club like Gor Mahia, there is always the desire to be the best and that’s why, we are working with a focus to the game,” he notes.
Coach Pinto, however, pointed out the tight schedule and little time to prepare for fixtures lined up.
“We had 72 hours to prepare for the next game, which is why, main goal is recovery of players from previous game. After one long break, it’s not easy to play after every three days.”
Commenting on the fitness level, coach Pinto says due to the long break, fitness level of players went down but he is optimistic they will improve.
“No player is at his best… the break (due to Covid-19 restrictions) was long but they will improve individually and also collectively.”
