Our former captain and goalkeeper Jerim Onyango who is now the Youth Team Team Manager and goalkeeper trainer says his vision is to achieve the best with the junior team and guide them to greater heights.
Onyango who played for the senior team for more than eight years says that good support is key in producing quality at the junior squad.
“What I would want to achieve with the junior players is to see them graduate to the senior team and also go play professional football. I am glad some have already graduated to the senior team which is a plus. We know that good support at all levels will help us produce quality because we have talents out here,” Onyango told Gor Mahia official website.
The former custodian says that the lower league is more competitive for the juniors compared to the previous level they were in the past season. “The league is more competitive compared to the one that we were last season and for the young lads it’s a good test as they grow up the football ladder.”
Commenting on effects of the Covid-19 outbreak on the league campaign, the Team Manager said: “The pandemic interfered with our good run but we hope when football resumes, we will be able to pick it up where we left it at.”
