Head coach Carlos Vaz Pinto is delighted to have achieved his team’s goal besides bagging maximum points against Zoo Kericho in league tie at Kasarani stadium.
Three goals from Samuel Onyango, Captain Kenneth Muguna and Sydney Ochieng’ were enough to put the game beyond the Kericho based team as they failed to find back of the net – a performance that coach Pinto attributes to hard work by his side.
“A clear victory and a reward for the players who have worked hard in a consecutive cycle of games, in which they are also adapting to new ideas and style of play – with little room for making mistakes,” coach Pinto stated.
Winning was not just the aim in today’s game but also not conceding in the process was top of priorities as noted by the head coach.
“In addition to winning, today we achieved a goal that we had – not to concede goals. The opponents did not reach our goal many times and this is a collective defensive work which we have trained a lot and it was reflected – the first time since I arrived here. Once again we will try to recover well and think about our next game,” added Pinto.
The team will be travelling to Mombasa to take on Bandari over the weekend in the next league assignment.
