Current chairman Ambrose Rachier has said that there is an Electoral Board in place – ready to oversee the club’s elections set for August 8.
Speaking exclusively to the club’s official website, Rachier said that after the official announcement of the elections, a three-member board was set-up to draw a plan for electing the new officials to manage the club for the next four years.
“Ours was to set up a date for elections after which a three-member board was set up to oversee the whole process. It’s an independent board and they will be having a meeting tomorrow (Saturday) after which they will issue guidelines in regards to the deadline for submitting credentials and the requirements for those wishing to vie for any post – as per the club’s constitution,” the Chairman noted.
The Chairman reiterated on the mode of voting in which only four officials will be elected – electronic system remains the best option amid Covid-19 pandemic with containment measures well in place on gatherings.
“I wish to repeat that the voting process will be through the electronic system with only registered members allowed to vote. We are all aware of Covid-19 control measures that can’t allow public gatherings. The best and easy platform will be used and members will be advised on the process well in advance before voting day.”
