Shakava: I am grateful to Gor Mahia
Former defender and captain, Harun Shakava, says he will forever remain grateful to Gor Mahia for playing a big role in his career development.
Shakava became arguably one of the most decorated captains at K’Ogalo after winning five Kenyan Premier League titles and other domestic trophies with the club before moving to Zambian giants Nkana FC last season.
The lanky centre half made over 200 appearances across all competitions in the green jersey since joining our outfit in 2014 from Kakamega Homeboyz.
Shakava’s move to Kitwe-based side reunited him with his former Gor Mahia captain Musa Mohammed.
Though Shakava featured prominently for the 12 times Zambian champions before the league was suspended in March due to the Covid-19 pandemic, he is still thankful for Gor’s contribution to his career so far.
By the time of the league’s suspension, Nkana were in fourth position with 43 points, three behind leaders Forest Rangers.
“I really enjoyed my time at Gor Mahia and I am grateful to the club for making me who I am today. They have contributed a lot to my career development,” Shakava told the official Gor Mahia website.
“I left Gor Mahia with a lot of respect because of what I had achieved with them. I literally won everything on offer at Gor Mahia and I think this was the right time for me to move and try a new challenge.”Attachments area
