After the mid-week encounter with Vihiga United in a league match, we shift focus to another league assignment – away to Wazito FC at Utalii grounds tomorrow (Monday).
A fixture that Captain Haron Shakava says they can’t underrate the opponents and he sees a tough battle ahead – but hopeful of a win.
“Wazito side is another strong team and we can’t underrate them…. It will be a tough battle but we hope to emerge victorious,” says Captain Shakava.
In the last five league meetings between the two sides, Gor Mahia have had the better side of Wazito – winning all three matches and scoring six goals while conceding non.
The two sides are keen to push up the log with Wazito sitting 10th with 23 points after playing 16 matches. Gor Mahia are fifth on the log with 28 points having played the same number of matches.
The trend between the two sides has been one-nil spare for 2018 second leg match when Gor Mahia ran riot on Wazito – winning by four goals to nil.
