After weathering a journey marred with challenges in securing a flight to Algeria, the team has safely landed in Algiers, the capital city of North African country for tomorrow’s Champions League preliminary match against Belouizdad.
The team left Nairobi today early morning (12.55am) aboard Qatar Airways and connected to Algeria through Doha – doing a flight of 12 hours in total with a layover of less than two hours in Doha.
In appreciating what turned out to be one of the best flight to the North, Team manager Jolawi Obondo appreciates every bit of it with applauds going to Qatar Airways.
“Though long, we’ve had the best journey so far…. Much improved services from Qatar Airways. The stop-over was less than two hours in Doha. The boys are upbeat and we will take some rest before having a feel of the pitch,” stated the Team Manager.
Through the help of Algerian government, the team was allowed to use an evacuation flight from Doha and Assistant Captain Philemon Otieno says everyone is fine and they are ready to give their best.
“The journey has been okay and we thank God for that. We are all fine and the mood is good… we are ready to give our best tomorrow.”
The match, which was rescheduled from Wednesday to tomorrow, will be played at 10.45pm Kenyan time.
